Bucket list #7 BE A GOOD MOM

Number 7 on her list was to be a good mom.  I know she loved her kids more than anything. When she found out Ethan had Aspergers, she read everything she could get her hands on.  She wanted to know what she would need to learn to work with him.  She read books to him all the time and was so proud that he learned to read and spell at a young age. I looked on her Pinterest pages and she had a whole section devoted to Aspergers and ideas to help him.

When she found out Gia had the heart tumor, again she studied everything about it.  She had to stay first a whole month flat on her back because of Gia's condition. Then another two months at the Ronald McDonald house while Gia was in the NICU.  At first she didn't want to complete Gia's nursery because the doctors were not very hopeful, but I said no, we had hundreds of prayer warriors praying and she was going to be fine.

Her biggest regret with the addiction was the kids. She felt so bad that she did that being a mom.  But that's the power of addiction.  I read through her journals from rehab and in all of them she wrote about making it up to her kids, that she owed them that. I know she would have.  They were her top priority.

Now Gia and Ethan say their mom is an angel in heaven.  Ethan wanted wings so he could fly and see her.  Of course, we got him wings!  Gia has one of her mom's angel beanie babies.

As I said before, Ethan is going to be adopted by Kendra's older sister Danielle and her husband Ryan.  Now he has two sisters, Layne and Gia.

You can never predict how life is going to turn out, because I would never have imagined just a few months ago, that Kendra would not be here to raise her kids.  While she was in rehab, we all prayed for her recovery, never imagining how God would answer our prayers.   But we trust that God indeed does know best and that he's got her in his loving arms.  And we know she's still watching and taking care of her precious babies.  With her wings on..............love and miss you Angel!
