The Good Wife - Bucket List #8

Kendra and Lance Grant

Number 8 was Be a Good Wife.   Now I'm really out of my league on this one!  Of course her ideals at 12 probably differed with grown up real life.  I do know she made it a little more difficult by having Ethan when they had only been married four months and she was still in college.

I do know the role of wife was important to her.  I will say she had really good intentions and some things she did well and others probably failed at.  Like all of us!

She and Lance were married on August 4, 2007.  She had so many dreams and visions of how she wanted her marriage to be.  Also like many of us she realized, UH OH husbands aren't perfect either!!!   Lol.

They had a lot of fun together and enjoyed many of the same interests in music and movies. When the problems with drugs interfered I really do not know anything about that period. I do know that she loved him though the good and bad times.

I looked up the definition of good wife, there were so many.  And really every person would have their own ideas of what they thought marriage would be like.  I would give anything to be able to talk to her and ask her myself.  I wish I would have found this list when she was alive.  We would have had a lot of laughs about her 100 things she put on her list.  Kendra was the most serious and organized child at 12 and I would have loved to have gone over her bucket list with her back then.

But the fact that marriage and children and wanting to be a good wife speaks volumes about how she wanted her life to be.  This is also why it's so important to have three involved in your marriage, husband, wife and the Lord.  Faith and a personal relationship with Christ and Christ being the center of your marriage is really the only magic formula a good wife or husband needs.  Kendra was getting her priorities straightened out at the time of her death, putting God front and center in her life.  She died as a good daughter of the King and really isn't that the most important role for any of us?
